Welcome to the WIU Sportsman Club!
A very special thanks to the Central Illinois Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited, the Illinois Conservation Police Lodge #146 of Quincy, Illinois, and the Illinois Chapter of TNUSA for their generous support of our club.

The WIU Sportsman Club was recognized as an official student organization by the Office of Student Activities of Western Illinois University on August 27, 2001.  The Mission of the WIU Sporstman Club is "To Promote and Support the future of hunting and shooting sports through teaching students of Western Illinois University safety, hunting ethics, and camaraderie, along with the effectiveness of their equipment."

We are an entirely student supported organization which focuses on outdoor activities such as camping, shooting, intercollegiate trapshooting, wildlife conservation and relocation, hunting and fishing.

Please come to our table (table #87) at the Activities Fair if you are interested in learning more about our organization, or want to join.  The Activities Fair is on Wednesday January 23 from 3-5pm in the University Union Grand Ballroom.

If you are interested in going Coyote/Crow/Snow Goose Hunting (Snow Goose season begins February 15), please get in touch with Erick Caffarello, email link below.  Glenn Sanders, Conservation Police Officer out of Quincy has said we can bring a few members each time.

We must abide by all rules and regulations set forth by Western Illinois University.  We only have 2 membership requirements of each member.  First, each member must possess a valid Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID), and second, each member must have proof of successfully completing a Hunter Education Course.  Copies of these items will be kept on file in our office, as well as the Office of Student Activities.  These are requirements that were imposed on us by the University in order for us to be recognized.  If you don't meet these requirements, don't worry, we'll help you get set up if you have a desire to be a member.  Right now, membership fees per semester will be around $20 to help out with equipment purchases, field trip costs, and other expenses.  We hope to keep costs as low as possible by getting outside organizations to donate money and/or equipment to the WIU Sportsman Club for member usage.  If you know of any person or organization that would like to help, please ask for their support and let us know.
